Where this comes from
Sources
Practice records come from healthdirect's Service Finder, the National Health Services Directory that Primary Health Networks feed and use. WentWest publishes no practice list. Every one of the 54 City of Blacktown suburb centres was searched, results were de-duplicated, and only practices whose listed suburb is in the LGA were kept. GP names and signals were read from each practice's own website. AOD services come from the same directory's addiction, pharmacotherapy, counselling, withdrawal and needle-and-syringe listings.
How the tier is scored
Aboriginal community-controlled service +3 · AOD or addiction-medicine interest on the website +3 · priority populations named +2 · hepatitis or liver care +2 · practice nurse, pharmacist or care-plan capacity +2 · mental health +1 · chronic pain +1 · accepting new patients +1 · bulk billing +1 · "not accepting new patients" −2. Tier A is 6 or more, Tier B is 3 to 5, Tier C is the rest. The weights follow the plan's group-2 criteria: coordination capacity and relevant caseloads, not prescribing willingness. Override freely.
Caveats
Directory fields (phone, hours, bulk billing, new-patient status) are maintained by the practices themselves and can be stale, so verify by phone before first contact. GP names are read from websites; chains sometimes list doctors from other sites, and a few names may be allied staff. Practices with no website, or an unreachable one, show no names and default to Tier C. A practice that has never registered in the directory will be missing, which is the gap WentWest can fill. Suburbs shared with neighbouring councils (Prospect, Rouse Hill, Seven Hills, Shanes Park, St Marys, Toongabbie, Vineyard) are flagged on the card.
